Virginia Beach Executive Committee Volunteers Wanted!

By

The Virginia Beach Chapter has been leading cleanups and other ocean-forward programs in the area for over 10 years - and we're looking for new leaders to join the Executive Committee to work towards the Surfrider Foundation mission right in your back yard!

The Executive Committee (EC) is a group of volunteers responsible for running a Surfrider Foundation chapter. It’s a fun and rewarding position that requires consistent efforts through a two-year term.

If you are interested in becoming a part of the Virginia Beach leadership team, fill out this brief form to start the convo!

Additional Information

Surfrider Foundation chapters are powered by a passionate crew of volunteers who are dedicated to make a difference. Running a chapter should be fun and fulfilling, but it’s good to keep in mind that each chapter is a part of our larger Surfrider network. How your chapter operates reflects on all of us, so let’s aim to keep things professional while still having a great time. The way we show up in the community shapes how people see us!

As an Executive Committee member you can expect to spend somewhere from 2 to 5 hours a week on Surfrider communications and tasks, depending on your specific role, the time of year and how active the chapter is. Most importantly, we seek self-directing and self-motivated types who care deeply about the protection and enjoyment of our coasts, recognize the power of grassroots action to effect change, and enjoy learning as they go.
